Mercedes-Benz Celebrates 140 Years of the Automobile at Auto e Moto d’Epoca

To celebrate 140 years of the automobile, Mercedes-Benz brings the new S-Class, the 300 D “Adenauer”, the electric C-Class and the 190 E 2.5-16 Evolution II to Bologna.

From 22 to 25 October, Mercedes-Benz will be at Auto e Moto d’Epoca with four saloons representing different moments in the history of the automobile. The brand’s presence at the show coincides with the 140th anniversary of the patent filed by Carl Benz in 1886, considered the birth of the automobile.

The new S-Class will take centre stage, setting a new benchmark in the luxury saloon segment, alongside the 300 D “Adenauer” (W 189), part of the Mercedes-Benz family of executive saloons introduced in 1951 with the 300 (W 186). Completing the line-up will be the new electric C-Class and the 190 E 2.5-16 Evolution II, the “toughest” of the “Baby Benz” models.

Four models that, between heritage and innovation, trace the evolution of Mercedes-Benz saloons, from iconic cars of the past to the latest models, at Auto e Moto d’Epoca 2026.
