Omologata per la serie GT1, ne furono costruiti 25 esemplari tra il 1998 e il 1999, dopo la fine del campionato: 20 coup\u00e9 e 5 roadster. Questo esemplare \u00e8 il prototipo pre-produzione ed \u00e8 stato utilizzato come vettura ufficiale per la stampa e per lo sviluppo.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>BMW M1 Procar:<\/strong> protagonista di una delle serie pi\u00f9 spettacolari della storia del motorsport, con vetture identiche che permisero ai piloti di Formula 1 e del turismo di sfidarsi ad armi pari. Niki Lauda vinse il campionato inaugurale del 1979 con questa M1, telaio 4301028, conquistando tre vittorie stagionali. Nel 1980 la vettura pass\u00f2 a Hans-Joachim Stuck, che vinse a Monaco e chiuse terzo assoluto.
