MORGAN.

From Le Mans to Super 3

Two vehicles of the prestigious English brand exemplify the continuity between past and present at the Padova Motor Show.

The Morgan Motor Company is one of the oldest English automakers. Founded in 1909, it is known for its attention to detail and the exclusively artisanal production of its vehicles. Aluminium, wood, and leather are the three basic materials that make up a Morgan. The lightweight and flexible ash wood is used for some elements of the frame, which serves as the structure onto which the outer aluminium panels are applied, as well as hosting interiors covered with the finest leather.

The continuity between the historical English brand's past and present, which artisanally produces unmistakably retro sports cars, is highlighted by the two models chosen to tell the story of the roots and present of the House.

The new Morgan Plus Six is accompanied by the Morgan Plus Four TR 2str 1968: it is the same model and has the same engine (Triumph TR4 2.138 cc) as the Plus 4 that won the class at the 1962 Le Mans 24 Hours. The car has an important historical regularity past (among others, 3 Winter Marathons, 2 Gran Premio Nuvolari, 2 Coppa Dalla Favera).

The Morgan Super3 is, instead, the modern version of the 3-wheeled car that the British artisanal company produced from 1909 to 1953. The Super3 is equipped with a Ford Dragon 3-cylinder in-line engine, combined with a 5-speed gearbox. The possibility of customization goes through a wide range of options regarding the bodywork livery and leather interiors. The Morgan Super3 achieves incredible performance thanks to the extremely low weight of only 635 kg and a power of 118 HP. This translates into a 0-100 km/h in 7 seconds with a 5-speed gearbox. All accompanied by an engaging sound.
