Following the presentation of the new BMW R 18, BMW Motorrad now presents the second entry in this new family of models of the cruiser segment: the R 18 Classic. The new BMW R 18 Classic is a tourer that draws on tradition echoing the first models of large touring cruisers. While the R 18 is very purist in style, the R 18 Classic features a large windshield, passenger seat, soft bags, additional LED headlights and a 16-inch front wheel.

These motorcycles refer to famous models such as the BMW R 5 from both a technological and a visual point of view, shifting the attention to the essential components of the bike: no-frills purist technology, the boxer engine as the fulcrum of driving pleasure, together with “good vibrations”. The classic design of the R 18 Classic and R 18 is also combined with clean yet contemporary technology to create a fascinating overall concept - delivering a driving experience that is as refined as it is emotional.
With the new R 18 Transcontinental, BMW Motorrad is adding to the R 18 family a Grand American Tourer and the R 18 B "Bagger", particularly popular in the United States. As with previous R 18 models, the new R 18 Transcontinental and R 18 B combine the thrilling power of the "Big Boxer" with a classic chassis concept that draws on historical models, exclusive equipment and an elegant design.
This makes the R 18 Transcontinental ideal for American-style travel and long distances - whether for solo driving or with a passenger and luggage. The R 18 B, on the other hand, is designed as a "rider's machine" that offers an exciting drive and is ideal for touring and cruising.
