Auto e Moto d'Epoca 2022 is every gentleman driver's dream

Driving the same car to go to the theatre in the evening, then racing it on the track on Sunday: this was possible at the time of the gentleman driver, a season worth exploring at the 2022 edition of Auto e Moto d'Epoca through the iconic Flaminia Super Sport Zagato and Flaminia Touring Superleggera.

Italy is the homeland of master coachbuilders and car designers and AME will host dozens of special models by Ghia, Bertone, Touring, Sala, Frua, Farina and Pininfarina, more recent models by Giugiaro, and new interpretations of old lines by contemporary craftsmen.

The gentleman driver tradition reached its pinnacle between the 30s and 60s. In the beginning, when it came to high-end models, car manufacturers would make the chassis with a built-in engine, allowing each client the freedom to 'dress up' their car however they wanted enlisting the work of renowned coachbuilders.  After the war, coachbuilders and car manufacturers teamed up: Lancia, for example, was famous for offering both standard and outfitted versions in its catalogue.
