Another gem will be present at the Finarte auction in Padua in 2019: the Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 Sport Cabriolet, with bodywork carried out by Pinin Farina in 1947.

The 1947 Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 Sport is the first Italian post-war Gran Turismo: "6C" refers to the number of cylinders in the motor. Designed by Pinin Farina, its splendid finishings reflect its elegant and sporty soul; its colour is a peculiar metallic shade which is combined with soft leather interiors and a canvas folding hood. By contrast, its lacquered spoked wheels give it a particularly "edgy" look. The wheels are definitely a rare feature of this model, which represents the "best of both worlds", an unusual and unexpected sports car for long-distance races.

It was the star of elegance competitions such as "Premières Journées d'Elégance" in October 1946 and its story is truly unusual. Although it is celebrated more for its elegance, it was used in competitions of great importance. Firstly, two famous pilots took to its wheel: Giorgio Pelassa in 1947 and Gaetano Coppola between 1947 and 1948. Subsequently in 1949, it was raced by Count Massimo Alesi, who came 50th overall at the XVI Mille Miglia, 40th in the Dolomite Coppa d'Oro and 12th in the 3rd Stella Alpina. But its adventures didn't end there: the car took part in the 2018 Dolomite Coppa d'Oro and was accepted in the 2019 Mille Miglia.

At present, it is registered in the USA. From 2001 to 2006, it underwent full refurbishment and underwent compliance with competition criteria; Carrozzeria Quality Cars in Padua, who specialise in Alfa Romeo cars performed this and in the restoration maintained the car's original livery.

The minimum estimated cost of this gem is € 725,000.
