The roar of thunder

The monstrous Brutus makes its way from Germany to Auto e Moto d'Epoca: 47,000 cc will be roaring to the cheers of fans.

A delightful gem from the Technik Museum Sinsheim, in Germany, on show at Auto e Moto d'Epoca.

A 47,000 cc aircraft engine fitted to the chassis of a 1907 lorry and capable of delivering 750 horsepower with a chain drive: project Brutus is not a vintage car but pure entertainment for motoring fans, capable of ‘flying' at 200 kilometres per hour.

The engine in fact is a BMW VI with 12 cylinders - each with a capacity of 4 litres - used on German heavy-duty WWI bombers and much appreciated for its compact power.

In 2021 the ignition of the powerful engine on the Fiat 130 Hp 1907 from the MAUTO Museum along the main avenue of the exhibition thrilled visitors to the show, with its roaring ‘voice' and its solid, reliable mechanics.

The Brutus expected in 2022 will not be a disappointment!
