During his life (1914-1997), Bertone's name was associated with flagship models such as Lamborghini, Countach, Lancia Stratos, Fiat X1/9, Lamborghini Miura and the Citroën series X.
In essence. Bertone played an important role in shaping the collective image of car-racing, not only through his creativity, but also by mentoring young designers such as Marcello Gandini and Giorgetto Giugiaro.
Thanks to his company - which at one point employed over 1,000 people - and collaborations with leading brands, Bertone has earned his place amongst the great Italian body shop mechanics and did so both as a designer and young talent scout.
His contribution to one of the most innovative periods of car design proved to be decisive: in the 60s and 70s, he created many futuristic prototypes.
This Montreal you see here, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in Padua, is one of his models.
