Two stars of the historic editions exhibited at Auto e Moto d'Epoca from 22nd to 25th October 2020.

After a shaky start to the year due to the uncertainty of the pandemic, the Lancia Appia - Appia Chapter is coming back to Auto e Moto d'Epoca and is confident and optimistic.

The 2020 edition of the stand will be dedicated to the Historic Mille Miglia and will be inspired by the presentation of the cars that inaugurated the most beautiful competition in the world.

To celebrate the role of the Appia in the competition, the Club is planning to exhibit two cars which took part in the Historic Mille Miglia. The first is one of the only ten 1957 Appia GTZ to have been made; these are also known as the Appia Pinnute (the Appias with fins), due to the fins located on top of the posterior fenders; the second is a 1953 Appia Series 1.

But the Appia wasn't just the star of the races. It was the first post-war Lancia model to occupy the mid-market segment, on par with Fiat 1100, but with more refined mechanics and finishing touches. It is the model that substituted the Ardea, preceded the Fulvia, and was given to the great coachbuilders to showcase their talent and flair. The Pininfarina coupé series, the Vignale convertible and the GT aluminium Zagato are well-known examples. The model presented in Padua this year belongs to these highly sought-after "racing" versions.
