“The Golden Age of Rally” at Auto e Moto d'Epoca 2022

The Exhibition scheduled to take place from 20th to 23rd October 2022 will be playing host to the absolute preview of “The Golden Age of Rally. The great challenges” show from MAUTO – the Italian National Motor Car Museum, curated by the Gino Macaluso Foundation for Historic Cars. Two iconic models will be on display: the BMC Mini Cooper S along with the Lancia Stratos.

This year too, MAUTO – the Italian National Motor Car Museum - is taking part in Auto e Moto d'Epoca in Exhibition Hall 1. Playing the starring role in the exhibition space are two extraordinary rally cars from the Gino Macaluso collection, which will subsequently be on display in the new exciting exhibition entitled The Golden Age of Rally. The great challenges that is to be set up in the prestigious halls of the museum in Turin between 27th October 2022 and 2nd May 2023.

Constituting an unprecedented exhibition on the international scene, “The Golden Age Of Rally” is a journey through the history of this sporting discipline told by the iconic models of the Gino Macaluso Foundation for Historic Cars. The cars on show were the very same vehicles to have won the most important championship races between the Sixties and the 1990s, from Monte Carlo to the Safari Rally, the Thousand Lakes in Finland and Sanremo. Iconic models, such as the Mini Cooper and the Lancia Stratos, which were the stars of legendary challenges, that tell the exploits of race drivers and race teams, technological evolution and the outstanding public success which has accompanied this sport over the decades.

The exhibition will take the form of an experience-trail that, through videos and exciting scenarios, will lead visitors to immerse themselves in the world of rally: a step back in time, in an age dominated by mechanics, speed, in a challenge to the limits that has involved legendary cars and drivers alike. Names such as Biasion, Kankkunen, Mäkinen, Mouton, Pinto, Sainz, whose deeds can be read about in a special “hall of fame” set up on the occasion of this exhibition which, with its multiple focuses, aims to draw and engage a variety of audiences, while also offering new perspectives to existing rally fans.

MAUTO has reserved a special rate of €10 (instead of €15) for all AME visitors who present their exhibition entrance ticket at the cash desk, to access the exhibition and the museum exhibition trail.
