{"id":15912,"date":"2024-10-04T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-10-03T22:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/autoemotodepoca.com\/news\/the-legend-that-is-the-triumph-spitfire\/"},"modified":"2025-07-29T14:15:53","modified_gmt":"2025-07-29T12:15:53","slug":"the-legend-that-is-the-triumph-spitfire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/autoemotodepoca.com\/fr\/news\/the-legend-that-is-the-triumph-spitfire\/","title":{"rendered":"THE LEGEND THAT IS THE TRIUMPH SPITFIRE"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>In Exhibition Hall 21, you will find the most universally appreciated roadster in the history of motoring.<\/h4>\n<div class=\"text\">\n<p>The <strong>Italian Triumph Spitfire Register (R.I.T.S.) <\/strong>booth will be displaying he two <strong>Spitfires<\/strong> which from 7<sup>th<\/sup> to 19<sup>th<\/sup> August 2023 completed the ITALY \u2013 SCOTLAND \u2013 ITALY raid covering a total distance of 5219 KM.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Created by Turin\u2019s designer Giovanni Michelotti, the subsequent series of Triumph Spitfires were built from 1962 onwards for 18 years, in more than 314 thousand units. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This commercial success launched the Standard Triumph \u2013 then the British Leyland Motor Company \u201cBLMC\u201d \u2013 well beyond the borders of the United Kingdom. This roadster, dedicated to the \u201cSupermarine Spitfire\u201d fighter aircraft, the symbol of the Battle of Britain, was created to combat its direct rivals &#8211; the Austin-Healey Sprite and MG Midget \u2013 and collected universal plaudits. The final car, built in 1980, was saluted melancholically by the workers with the placard \u201cThere she blows\u201d (\u2018the last breath\u2019).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Italian Triumph Spitfire Register (R.I.T.S.) was created by a Group of Friends and enthusiasts for vintage British cars in order to hand down the legend that is the Triumph Spitfire roadster, together with the heritage of the three series of the Triumph GT6, a somewhat mysterious car for Italy where just 32 units were ever imported.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In Exhibition Hall 21, you will find the most universally appreciated roadster in the history of motoring.
